Now I Need Something From Ya'll

If you are not even a semi-religious person you may want to pass on this post. I have a great faith in the power of prayer, and I am asking for your help. I just found out on Thursday that my Mom has colon cancer. She will have surgery 02/11/09. Please, please say a prayer for her. The power of prayer is an amazing thing. Matt the Brat was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 8 months. I saw it for myself on the CT scan. I held him in my lap all night and prayed for my baby. The next day when they did the scan before his scheduled surgery, there was nothing there. The pediatric neurologist said that he had no explanation except that is was a miracle. Matt is about to celebrate his 30th birthday. Therefore, I KNOW that prayer works.
Please remember my Mom in your prayers. Her name is LaVerne, I need all the help I can get.

I will keep your mom in prayer. I, too, have seen the power of prayer with my first husband when he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 1993. He had surgery and did wonderfully until 2001. What we didn't know initially was that the survival rate to live 18 months was only 5%. He lived 8 years. My youngest child was only 16 months old when her daddy was first diagnosed. He got 8 more years with her and she now remembers her daddy. He passed away in 2001. But, there is still a great testimony to the power of prayer in that he beat all the odds for 8 years. So... just know that we care and are praying for you as well as your mom. It is never easy watching a loved one go through all the stuff.

Please take care of yourself and your mom and the scrappin' world will still be here when you get back. Post a note now and again and keep us up on how she is doing!

You have shared your talents with so many and asked for so little in return. I am also a believer in prayer- I've seen it work first hand. Please post updates on your Mom-you and your family are in my prayers. Hugs to you all
