Lilys Garden QP

Vicki P. http://vicki20.blogspot.com/ has a new freebie kit that starts today! It's called "Lilys Garden" and it is a rework of one of her very first designs. Be sure to stop in every day this week to pick up all the pieces. This is a gorgeous kit with nice spring time colors.
I'm not much on purple, but I had this photo of Lilly with her ever present binky that matched up perfectly! Password is: binky
I am going to try to find the time to chat and share some holiday photos sometime this week, but for now I have to catch up on three days of sales reports, deposits, and fix the inevitable mess that occurs everytime I take a few days off.

It's a Foo-Foo Christmas!

Remember back in November when I was working with Kim B's color swatch and thought that it would make a pretty Christmas kit? Nah, I didn't think ya'll would! Anyway, ya'll all know how I love the foo-foo, so I started playing around with that swatch and all sorts of ribbons and sparkley stuff and came up with "A Foo-Foo Christmas". What else could the password be but: foofoo

Long Time, No Post

Sorry for being MIA. I am just overwhelmed and don't have enough time to do everything. Ain't it a shame when real life gets in the way? LOL!!! I did finally get a chance to use my new camera this weekend. I LOVE IT!!! (Although I don't know if I'll ever figure out everything that it can do!) I did manage to scrounge up a tiny gift for ya'll. The newest action from Atomic Cupcake http://www.atomiccupcake.com/ is tinsel! I played around with it and came up with some pieces that will match the Christmas kit. Also included are some felt words. Password is: shiny
"Foo-Foo Christmas" is almost finished, I'll get it uploaded this week.

A Makeover for Christmas!

I have scrapped these photos before, but I just couldn't resist doing them again. The photo of Lilly showing her tonsils just cracks me up everytime I see it (and notice, Wyatt holds his pose throughout the tantrum)! I used stuff from my Christmas kit, which is available a couple of posts down. password is: candy

Country Cottage Kit

Well, I truly did try to get a page together for ya'll last night, but it was kinda' like beating a dead horse, it just wouldn't go anywhere. Maybe Mr. MoJo will show his shining face around my house this weekend.
I finished this LO earlier this week. I used Vicki Parker's new kit "Country Cottage" which will be available in her store tomorrow. (Or it could be today, I stay confused on the time thing).
Anyway, ya'll should check this one out, the FABULOUS torn & worn alpha is worth the price of the kit! Get it here . It's on sale for only $2.50 till midnight Sunday! Run, run, run!

Have a great weekend!

Poor Neglected Blog Readers

I thought I should check in with a quick post to let ya'll know that I haven't fell off the face off the earth! I'm just BUSY!!! Uhmmm...let's see, what's been happening around here?
Matt and Shawna just got back from Jamaica, and sent me a bunch of photos to rub it in. (Along with a not so subtle hint that I could make some pages!)
It snowed here last night! Not a whole lot, but any snow in these parts is big news, now I have snowy pics of Wyatt and Lilly to scrap.
I am STILL wrapping presents from the Black Friday spree, and no...I am not finished with my shopping. I haven't figured out what to get for Matt and my Daddy.
Last, but certainly not least, Santa came early to my house. Yep, I broke down and bought myself a Canon Digital EOS Rebel XS along with a 75-300 zoom lens. I've been eyeing them for a while and just couldn't stand it any longer. A very Merry Christmas to Vicki! LOL!!! Now I just have to figure out how to take a picture with it! I foresee an experimental photo shoot in Wyatt & Lilly's near future.
I will try and get a page finished tonight for ya'll.
Merry Christmas,
Vicki

Country Life

Vicki P. starts the release of "Country Life" today. Be sure to stop in @ http://vicki20.blogspot.com/ every day to pick up all the pieces! I have to be honest with ya'll, I totally forgot that this kit started today. I realized it when I got up this morning, and whipped up this page @ 5:00 AM. It's on the simple side, and I didn't have time to put the journaling on it before I had to run out the door. This shot was taken in December of 2001. My goodness, how Wyatt has grown! It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

ARGGHH!!! This is the third time to try to make this post, Blogger is really being a turd today, on top of it taking over an hour to upload to 4shared (on DSL, no less!). Here is the result of my lost eight hours on Saturday. Hope ya'll like! (note: the overlays used to make these papers result in HUGE files, if anyone has a problem downloading, let me know and I can split them up). I'm 'gonna give ya'll a peek at the whole danged thang, download the papers today and check back Monday for the stuff. 'Scuse the previews, as ya'll know, I suck at making them. Anybody have any suggestions? Anyone want a job? LOL!!! Password for papers is: merry

Start picking it up tomorrow! Now, without further ado, I give you the "Bright Christmas" QP. Primary Grunge

Dadgummit, I just can't keep up with all these different time zones and postings! I am falling down on the job! LOL!!! Vicki P. http://vicki20.blogspot.com/ posted the start of her new freebie kit "Primary Grunge" late yesterday, and I was caught unprepared. See, I told you there would still be lots of give aways! This kit was a blast to play with. Here's my LO of Ms. Lil sporting her cute little pigtails, and if you would like to come back tomorrow, the QP will be available for download. I will try to pay more attention in the future, I promise!

It's a Winter Wonderland!

Just in case ya'll have been in a hole or something and missed the big news, Vicki Parker of http://vicki20.blogspot.com/ is now selling her kits! Of course, she will still be giving away lots and lots of fabulous freebies, but you should really check out her store here. This kit is called Winter Wonderland and it's on sale right now for only $4.00! Here's my LO of Matt and his homey looking Snow Cop. I took this photo during one of our rare East Texas snows. Sorry, no QP of this one, Vicki P. has requested that I not use the paid kits. So... if you like this LO, run right on over to her store, snag this kit and scraplift away!

Mini Kit

I know, everyone is probably tired of fall colors and is ready for Christmas stuff, but I made a little mini kit to use for my Thanksgiving pages and decided what the heck...maybe ya'll could use it, too. The cute notebook paper frame is courtesy of Gunhild Storeide @ http://www.storeide.se/gunhild/velkommen.htm She has some wonderful creations that she shares, check it out! There are three of the scratched and worn papers in png form. I uploaded each of them separately, because using this overlay makes for a pretty large file. I made the sequins using a nifty little action from Deb @ http://thescrappincop.blogspot.com/ . Password is: leaf (for all links, I can't think of anything else)

And here's my turkey page and the QP for ya'll. I'll try to find the time to fill ya'll in on Fridays

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I may try to pop in Saturday, it depends on how exhausted I am from the Super-Duper shopping trip on Friday. I found this cute page kit @ http://crops2dawn.blogspot.com/ This is the cutest turkey! I have several projects in the works, maybe I can get some finished over the weekend.

Who Likes to Shop?

Okay, I admit it. My name is Vicki, and I'm a shopaholic. Shopping is FUN! It's a form of entertainment. The hunt for the perfect "thing" at a great price and finally finding it is such a thrill! So naturally, Black Friday is paradise for me! I take off work and hit the stores for an all day extravaganza. Hellmart is always first on the list, then the truck is full, so I go to the office and unload, then run to J.C. Penney's and Belk. Those are my Big Three. Then it's another unload at the office and then a more leisurely cruise through the other stores at the mall. Last year was the first time I took photos of the end result, Dad said I looked like the Beverly Hillbillies, my poor truck was crammed to the gills, and this was only one load! I scrapped this page to document some of my booty! I wish I could give credit for the Santa paper, but I can't even find it now. It was just perfect for this LO. If I remember correctly, it was scanned from gift wrap. If anyone knows who created it, please let me know, I would love to give credit where it is due. If ya'll say it's Cinzia Loosemore, then thanks go to Cinzia! However, I have been to the web site because I wanted to buy the paper, since I can't find it on my cram packed HD, and it's not in the Holiday Magic set. Any ideas where I could find it?

I've Got Sunshine...

Here's the LO that I had in my mind when I started the November Color Challenge. I still had The Temptations on the 'ole brain at the time! LOL!!! First it was "sunshine on a cloudy day", then it was a "song sweeter than the birds in the trees", and that's how it all came about. Well, hey...it all made sense to me at the time! Sometimes I think that the seventies may be finally catching up with me! LMFAO!!! Password is: cloudy Hope ya'll enjoy!

November Color Challenge

I've got the November Color Challenge done. Today ya'll get the papers. They are heavily textured. I guess all that texture weighed them down, 'cause when I went to upload them, it was a 66 mb file! LOL!!! So, I split them into two files to make it easier for ya'll to download. Here's the swatch. Now that I think of it, this would make a pretty Christmas kit, but it's too late now!

A First! (and maybe the last!)

Today for your scrapping pleasure I give to you my first alpha. It may also be the last, unless I find a better way. I don't know what secrets Vicki P. http://vicki20.blogspot.com/ has, but I do know that she must have some to be able to put out the wonderful alphas with every kit. It took me over 3-1/2 hours to make this one! I was fooling around with Kim's November swatch, and this is one of the colors. It should be fairly versatile. As you can see, it's in a warm, fuzzy felt style. The cute jar is courtesy of Deb @ http://thescrappincop.blogspot.com/ .

Well, the filesavr experiment doesn't seem to be working out. Some of you have reported not being able to download Candy Dreams, or getting a 5 hour download time. That is unacceptable. There have also been concerns over virus scanning. I don't think filesavr was prepared to take on Scrapland. So...as much as it pains me, back to crappy no comment 4shared we go. I have posted a new link to Candy Dreams for those who could not download it previously. (Password is: sweet). The password for the alpha is: fuzzy

Candy Dreams

This weeks kit from Vicki P. http://vicki20.blogspot.com/ is called "Candy Dreams". For someone who professes to not like pastels, she certainly did a fabulous job! Be sure to stop by her blog everyday this week to get it all, and leave some love when you do. Password is: sweet I am still struggling with CS4, my plans for the weekend changed, Mom, Dad, Steve & Bev all came up to the deer lease, so I spent the weekend visiting with them. Maybe taking a break will help!

Thanks to Deb http://thescrappincop.blogspot.com/ for the heads up on file savr. If you scroll down just a little bit from the download button, you will see that you can leave a COMMENT!!! Please, please let me know how this is working as far as downloading speed and the ease of using the site. I am having to pay for this, so I really would like to know what ya'll think.

Quick Update

First, here is how to post a comment on 4shared. You have to be logged in to your account in a seperate tab or window. Scroll down and post your comment BEFORE you hit the download button. That is the only way it works. Of course, you may leave them here on the blog, I actually prefer that. I still say if they are going to require accounts, you should have to have one to download.
Second, I took the plunge! Yep, I have CS4! Not that I have been able to create anything with it, but I have it! ROTFLPIMP!!! I got it installed (along with Lightroom) last night and then promptly spent thirty minutes trying to rotate an element. Now, I am pretty danged good with PSE5, if I do say so myself. But this program has reduced me to 'tard status. I can't figure out where to install my actions (if they will work) or presets for Lightroom. I really, REALLY miss having the photo bin on the bottom. Hmmm...maybe reading the manual would help? LOL! I think the only way to do this is to go cold turkey from PSE5 and force myself to use CS4. Therefore, the pickins' might be on the slim side here for a little while, but not for long. I plan to immerse myself in it this weekend, and I am determined to create SOMETHING with it.
Stay tuned...

What to do, what to do? (Or the continuing saga of 4shared)

Well, dadgummitt, I wish someone would've filled me in. After reading the comments, I tried to download from a different computer to see what was going on. I was not aware that the Windows Sky Drive required you to have an account to comment. Hell, I might as well go back to screwy 4shared. From everything that I can gather, they are doing this as a security measure, but evidently they do not have all the bugs worked out, even after you sign up you have trouble leaving a comment. I do believe this is going to cause an uproar in scrapland. I will ponder this tonight, and try to decide what to do. Downloaders not being able to post a simple thanks is NOT an option for me. For the time being the link is changed back to 4shared, we shall see how this works.

4shared Changes Again

Evidently 4shared has decided that you have to be a member to leave a comment. It doesn't take but a moment to sign up, and it is free. The good news about this is that it will stop all the anonymous BS. The bad news is nobody is signing up. I think that if they are going to do this, you should be required to be a member to download. For the moment, I am trying a new service. It seems to be very quick, but I cannot make the link open in a new window. You can always left click it. It will not let me password protect the folders, so this is not a permanent solution. Let me know if you have any problems.

Enchanted Forest

Today's page was created using "Enchanted Forest", a collab between Vicki http://vicki20.blogspot.com/ and Sara http://sweetblossomdesigns.blogspot.com/ . This was just the perfect kit for my "Tink" photos. Be sure to visit their blogs every day this week to pick up the whole thing! Password is: tink. The awesome curled template that I used is from Helena Jole. You can see all of her fabulous designs here . She creates some of the most realistic paper I have ever seen. Check it out, you will be amazed!

Tink & Star Wars

Nothing we could say could convince Wyatt to be Captain Hook for Halloween. Peter Pan was never an option, no way this guy is going out in public wearing green tights! So, here we have Tinkerbell with her Star Wars buddy. And yes, Lilly caught on to the trick or treat thing really fast!

This LO was made using "I Believe" from Kim Broedelet. See it here. I bought this kit months ago when it first came out. I knew that eventually I would get the perfect pic for it!

Have a great weekend!

Vicki
