Come Down My Garden Path

I have a new kit up in the store! I call it "Garden Path", and it's a little different from my usual, it was created to give your LO a hand cut paper pieced look. It includes 12 textured papers and 47 elements, not everthing is shown in the preview. Available exclusively at Plain Digital Wrapper. I ended up with a few extra papers, and then yesterday Jodiann sent me a surprise! I had searched high and low for a style to give a chalked type edge, and I had asked her if it was possible, 'cause she is a whiz with styles. Lo and behold, she sent me these fabulous styles with such a terrific name, Chalkies:Vicki's Beach. Does she know me or what, lol! I started playing around with them last night and had a blast! These are the smooth styles, she is working on a textured set, but it's easy to add a little texture after you apply the style. I just love the soft chalked edge these styles give, pick 'em up for yourself this Friday and see what I mean. And...I made a few new things with them to go with the leftover papers so ya'll can have a little gifty. Enjoy! I will have a drawing on Friday from all comments left here on the blog to win "Garden Path", so leave me a note!

Round and Round We Go, A Wiener and a Gifty

KimBob has a new masterpiece available, and what an amazing fun kit it is! It's built around a carousel theme, but like all of her kits it is very versatile and you can create many different LO's with it. Get Merry A Round for yourself and have a blast! As I was slaving away on the second LO and ended up with something like 50 layers of popcorn it occured to me that it would be cool to have some popcorn scatter...so I made it for ya'll!
And...drumroll please, the lucky winner that purchased Hippity Hop is... CONNIE!!!! I want to thank each and every one who purchased my kit, I really do appreciate it! Connie, you should receive an email with your gift certificate to PDW, please contact me if you have any problems.
BTW...if any of ya'll are looking for a digi home, join us at Plain Digital Wrapper. There is an open gallery where you will receive heartfelt comments on your LO's, and an awesome forum with challenges and lots of giftys.

Ya'll have a wonderful weekend!

Here Comes Easter Nana with a Gifty For Ya'll

Since the giftys have been a little sparse around these parts, I wanted to give ya'll a little something from "Hippity Hop". If you just happen to have some change under the couch cushions, go scrounge it up and get the whole kit and kaboodle at Plain Digital Wrapper! Remember, I will have a drawing on 03/26/10 from all of those who purchase my very first kit for sale for a gift certificate to Plain Digital Wrapper to use however you please!
On a personal note, it's flippin' snowing AGAIN here in East Texas. I tell ya'll, this just ain't right. If you have to deal with hurricanes you shouldn't have to put up with snow, and vice a versa.
I'm looking for land in Costa Rica.

Can You Keep A Secret?

I'm so excited I could just bust, so I'll let ya'll in on what I have been so busy with. The official announcement goes out in the Plain Digital Wrapper newsletter tomorrow, but I've just 'gotta tell someone! I have been invited to be a guest designer at Plain Digital Wrapper! My very first kit in the store is "Hippity Hop". It's not just an Easter kit, though. I have included enough stuffies so that it can be used for many different LO's. There are 10 textured papers, 3 chipboard mats and 45 elements, all for only $5.00! Come on and get it right here. I will randomly select someone who purchases Hippity Hop to receive a gift certificate to Plain Digital Wrapper.

After you're done shopping, be sure to check out the PDW forum. These gals are just too funny, and there are lots of different challenges. It looks a little funky now, as it is undergoing a redecoration. You should also set up a gallery there. You will receive some of the sweetest comments on your pages.

March PDW Color Challenge!

This month's color swatch at Plain Digital Wrapper was a whole lot easier on the eyes, not to mention being SOOO much easier to work with! I didn't work with a theme, so this is kind of a general all purpose kit. I did chunk in some shamrocks at the last moment, though! I hope ya'll enjoy! One thing I need to explain, the green chipboard frame started life as a full size page frame, and I meant to resize it for ya'll, but I got sidetracked and forgot. So don't be shocked when this huge 12x12 frame pops up. Use it as a page frame, or resize it to your liking.

How 'Bout Some Southern Comfort?

The March DSO Pick Ur Bits is named Southern Comfort, and it is gorgeous! I only had a chance to play with Kim's part, but every designer's portion coordinates so you can build your own kit with only what you want, how cool is that? Priced at $1.50 to $2.00 per bit, you can't go wrong! Get Kim's bits here or take a look at the whole kit and kaboodle here.

For your viewing pleasure, I have two LO's created with Kim's portion. The "You Are..." page received Gallery Standout at Plain Digital Wrapper!

Ya'll have a great day!
Hugs, Vicki

March DSO Color Challenge

WooHoo!!! How's this for early? Kim gave us a nice springy swatch for this month, so expect lots of Easter in this month's DSO Color Challenge. I tried really hard not to, but I couldn't help chunking an Easter egg in mine. I used stuffies from Kim's new Spring CU collab Bag with Bunny, and the fabulous styles that I used on the butterfly and the Easter egg are from fellow Texan Jodiann Cates. This gal is a whiz at creating amazing styles!

I hope ya'll enjoy my little Spring gift: txbubbles-March 2010 DSO CC-papers.zip txbubbles-March 2010 DSO CC-stuff.zip

Another Clustering Tip and a Sneak Peek

Sue asked if I could explain more about what I meant by triangle placement, so here is a pretty good example. When you start to build your cluster, keep a general triangle shape in mind, or while you're practicing, you could even place a shape in your document and delete it later. Looking at this cluster, you will notice I started out with (3) ferns for the 'bones'. I then added the ribbon bow and (5) assorted flowers. A scattering of the purple flowers added between the ferns and the main flower elements adds the finishing touch. I hope this helps, I'm not very good at writing tuts, so if ya'll have any more questions just give me a holler!

This little cluster was created using items from Kimbob's Spring CU collab Bag with Bunny. You can get it here DSV or here DSO At only $6.00 for $43.00 worth of stuff, it's one danged good deal!
